Angela is a 30 something mother of three and has been married for 17 years.  Originally from Zimbabwe she has lived in the United Kingdom and settled in New Zealand 5 years ago.

Angela never considered Counselling as a career but when her son was just 9 months old she saw a advert to ‘Learn to Become a Counsellor’ at the New Zealand Institute of Professional Counselling, and it was like a light switch turned on; her excitement was palpable. Angela’s previous career as a Legal and Medical PA saw her spend 6 years working at the Burns unit in the UK, so you can only imagine the different types of people in unimaginable situations she encountered. Angela felt that studying Professional Counselling was like another piece completed in her jigsaw puzzle.

Angela is surpassing her own expectations of the course, and has some sound advise for those considering studying with the New Zealand Institute of Professional Counselling:

“My advise would be not to be afraid.  By that I mean you will without a doubt discover and learn so much about yourself through this course.  You will grow enormously with the help and patience of such a knowledgeable, warm and caring body of tutors and staff.  With all that, you will come out the other end a better person with a great career ahead”.
