Counselling Student Testimonials
Angela, New Zealand
New Zealand Institute of Professional Counselling
Angela is a 30 something mother of three and has been married for 17 years. Originally from Zimbabwe she has lived in the United Kingdom and settled in New Zealand 5 years ago.Angela never considered Counselling as a career but when her son was just 9 months old she saw a advert to ‘Learn to Become a Counsellor’ at the New Zealand Institute of Professional Counselling, and it was like a light switch turned on; her excitement was palpable. Angela’s previous career as a Legal and Medical PA saw her spend 6 years working at the Burns unit in the UK, so you can only imagine the different types of people in unimaginable situations she encountered. Angela felt that studying Professional Counselling was like another piece completed in her jigsaw puzzle.
Angela is surpassing her own expectations of the course, and has some sound advise for those considering studying with the New Zealand Institute of Professional Counselling:
“My advise would be not to be afraid. By that I mean you will without a doubt discover and learn so much about yourself through this course. You will grow enormously with the help and patience of such a knowledgeable, warm and caring body of tutors and staff. With all that, you will come out the other end a better person with a great career ahead”.

"I commenced my study and training with NZIPC in 2011 and it has been the most wonderful and rewarding experience. I can’t speak highly enough of the tutors and support that they provide to me and all the training counsellors. Nothing is ever a problem for the team at the NZIPC office based in Albany. They are one of the most helpful and friendly teams I have experienced as a training organisation. They go out of their way to assist you and ensure your study and learning experience is as rewarding and fulfilling for you as possible."

"I am really enjoying immersing myself in the Whanau Unit and understanding the significance of bringing together the mind, body and spirit, teaching me that to work holistically is so powerful. Acknowledging how our Whanau past has made us who we are, the opportunity to be all we can be in the Whanau present and the impact we carry into the Whanau future.
