Welcome to the New Zealand Institute of Professional Counselling

The art of listening with an open mind and responding with understanding and sensitivity is fundamental to productive communication. Embarking on a counselling course is likely to transform how you think and express yourself. It is a commitment to self-improvement as well as a commitment to engaging in good quality relationships with others.

The New Zealand Institute of Professional Counselling (NZIPC) are a leading provider of counselling training.  The Diploma of Professional Counselling is approved by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) and is supported by highly qualified academic staff with a commitment and passion for helping students to achieve their goals.

Developed in conjunction with the largest provider for counsellor training in Australasia, the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (AIPC), the Diploma incorporates the unique bi-cultural context of New Zealand. Academic content and practical integration is in-depth and specific to the counselling industry, meeting the provisional membership criteria for New Zealand and Australian professional counselling associations.
