Asia:nz has secured some amazing performers this year, including sand sculptor Ranjan Kumar Ganguly, Manupuri Dancers and The Indian Puppeteers with puppets up to two metres high.
The Diwali Festival is a highlight of Auckland’s diverse and cultural events calendar and attracts thousands of people every year, with this year being even more enhanced by the Rugby World Cup Quarter Finals which it coincides with.
The festival is deep in ancient history and symbolises the triumph of light over darkness and the renewal of life. It is a time for celebration in India and by Indians abroad, with families lighting lamps, candles and fireworks to symbolise the triumph of light over darkness, and good over evil.
