A group of hotel management students at Quantum Education Group’s Auckland CBD campus got into the spirit of the Rugby World Cup and took part in the Fan Trail to Eden Park last Wednesday. The Fan Trail which starts at Queen Elizabeth Square in Central Auckland was set up to give fans making their way to Eden Park a fun and entertaining way to start their rugby experience. It takes you up Queen Street to Aotea Square for street performances, then onto Myers Park - one of Auckland’s best keep secrets. You then sneak through the 19th century St Kevin’s Arcade and onto Karangahape Road, fondly nicknamed K’Road by the locals, where entertainment will intrigue you. K’Road becomes Great North Road and provides fans with the opportunity to get into the spirit of the Rugby World Cup with free face painting. The Fan Trail then follows down Bond Street from where the mighty Eden Park becomes visible and the final destination is only steps away.
In order
The group joined the Fan Trail at Aotea Square and made their way up to K’Road via Myers Park where they broke up into teams and did a treasure hunt, with the winning team receiving a pizza and movie voucher. From there they continued on to Eden Park following the Trail and taking in the entertainment along the way. Taking part in the Fan Trail was an eye opener for some of our students who took the opportunity to become familiar with Auckland’s heritage and style.
The various fun, social and cultural activities organised by Quantum Education Group are a great way of getting to know your surrounding area as well as a way of meeting new students and establishing life-long friendships. We are committed to providing them regularly for our students to make the most of their time outside of their studies.
