The world's biggest Rugby Event is finally here!

After months of anticipation, the big day has finally arrived. Today at 7.30pm the nation, and millions all over the world, will have their eyes firmly fixed on New Zealand to witness the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup 2011. The first match of the event will be New Zealand vs Tonga at 8.30pm local time.

The opening ceremony has been a much guarded secret and is tipped to see the appearance of a mystery sporting legend. The extravaganza will include over 1000 dancers, 400 singers and fireworks to a level never seen before in New Zealand. New Zealanders have unequivocal support for the All Blacks, but is also getting behind the visiting nations, towns throughout the country have adopted nations and have spared no expense in showing their support by decorating their towns and welcoming their adopted nations into their homes.

Many New Zealanders have taken the opportunity to ensure they are part of this event, as for many this is a once in a lifetime event and the only time in their life that something this big will come to New Zealand.
