Diploma in Aviation (Level 5) (Aeroplane or Helicopter)
The Diploma in Aviation is designed for students who are intent on enhancing their job prospects as much as possible. The Diploma is a 2 year qualification, which also includes a Certificate upon successful completion of the first year. Students not only study for the CAA qualifications, but also nationally recognized academic units that focus on paperwork and teamwork – crucial skills for a Pilot. The Diploma also includes work experience upon completion, which looks great in a Pilot’s logbook. The Diploma is NZQA accredited.
Aeroplane:
This course includes 311 hours of flying time, full ground courses, and all applicable exams. Upon successful completion students will be given the opportunity to work with Quantum Aviation as an Under Supervision Flight Instructor. The top students in their class will also be given the chance to complete their CAA 135 Charter Pilot check and work for Quantum Aviation on Air Transport flights such as aerial photography, aerial surveying, scenic and charter flights.
Helicopter:
This course includes 286 hours of flying time, full ground courses, and all applicable exams. Upon successful completion students will be given the opportunity to work with Quantum Aviation as an Under Supervision Flight Instructor. The top students in their class will also be given the chance to complete their CAA 135 Charter Pilot check and work for Quantum Aviation on appropriate Air Transport flights such as aerial photography, aerial surveying, scenic and charter flights.
Qualification
Diploma in Aviation (Level 5) (Aeroplane or Helicopter):
- Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
- Private, Commercial and Instrumental theory exams
- ICAO Aviation English Endorsement
- Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
- Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (aeroplane) OR Basic Gas Turbine Rating (helicopter)
- C Category Instructor Rating
- Logged work experience flights
- NZQA unit standards

- Full time – 104 weeks

Entry Requirements
- Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate
- Police records for all countries lived in for more than 6 months within the last 5 years
- An equivalent of 5.5 IELTS or more/ICAO Level 4, with no individual band lower than 5.0
