New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 6)
The New Zealand Diploma in Business is a nationally recognised, broadly based business qualification which will help you move into a wide range of business sectors. It can also provide entry to degree level studies in accounting, banking, finance or management, and is recognised by a number of professional bodies and universities.
Studying the NZDipBus, you gain valuable knowledge about the fundamental concepts of business through 12 different modules. The student’s learning is further enhanced with the inclusion of practical workshops and seminars. All sessions will be very interactive, and students will work in groups on case studies or projects. Guest speakers from the industry are invited to give presentations to encourage industry relevancy. Depending on the module, practical components such as industry field trips or project-based visits may be organised.
The New Zealand Institute of Management (NZIM) is New Zealand’s professional body for managers. If you complete the course content listed below you will also be awarded the NZIM Diploma in Management.

Entry Requirements
- An equivalent of IELTS 6.0 (Academic) or more, with no individual band lower than 5.5
- Applicants under 20 years of age must have a minimum of:
1. 14 numeracy credits at Level 1 or above in Mathematics or Pangarau on the National Qualifications Framework, and
2. 50 credits at Level 2 or above with at least 20 credits in each of three subjects, including a minimum of eight literacy credits at Level 2 or above in English or Te Reo Maori, of which at least 4 credits are in reading and 4 credits are in writing. The literacy credits are to be selected from a schedule of approved standards and unit standards, OR
3. An equivalent to both of the above**
**Examples of equivalent qualifications from other countries:
India: Higher Secondary School Examinations or All India Senior School Certificate with passes of at least 55% in three subjects
Indonesia: SMA 3 with 60% average pass in 4 subjects
Malaysia: SPM or Chinese Unified Examination
Nepal: Profiency Certificate with 65% grade average
